Isn't your body simply amazing? Just look at all of the organs, miles of blood vessels, bones to hold us up, muscles to give us strength and skin to hold this all together! Then think how all of this functions in perfect synchronized order to make all of this work together. OH, if only along with all of the things we are taught as a child to function in this world, it would be mandatory to teach us exactly how to take care of our bodies to keep them in tip, top condition. Instead of letting children eat candy and ice cream and all the other junk food to their hearts content, we would be raised to eat fruit and healthy snacks instead. If only we would have been taught that our body is like a well oiled, perfect tuned engine and only the best grades of fuel should be used to keep it that way.
Alas, most of us have not been raised like this and so after so many years of eating anything we desired our bodies start to pay the price of our over indulgence. Disease starts to creep in and it's a lot harder for us to take control of it.
Plaque buildup in the arteries is one of the first stages of disease in the body. It can start even in our younger years depending on how bad our diet is. It all starts with high cholesterol levels. I would say that your heart and your brain are the two most important organs in your body. High cholesterol clogs up the arteries of both of them causing a vast array of illnesses such as angina, heart attacks, strokes, dementia, and other brain imparments.
Isn't it time you take responsibility for your actions? Why not start treating your body the way it needs to be treated by putting in the proper fuel to keep it healthy and active? You know it will mean sacrificing a lot of the wonderful tasting foods you are used to, but aren't you worth it? Isn't your family worth it?

Lower Your Cholesterol With Exercise
Apart from eating less and making changes in the diet, the best way to lower cholesterol is by exercising. This will increase the heart rate and metabolism in the body allowing it to expel the harmful oils, which are detrimental to one's health. Those who have not exercised before should first consult with a physician to find out which is safe. If you have a current heart condition you may not wish to participate in a strenuous routine. Walking is a great low impact aerobic and still will help to improve cholesterol levels.
Should the physician say the patient can participate in high impact exercises; there is running, swimming, aerobics and bicycling. Medical history is not the only factor that will direct you to the proper exercise for you.. This will also depend on gender, age and weight. The doctor can make a plan then the person should relay this to the fitness instructor as to what is safe or not. The instructor can then devise a personalized plan for the individual that is safe to follow. After the second week of successful exercise and activity, there should be beginning signs of improvement to the levels of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. The participant should also begin seeing signs of beginning weight loss.
An added benefit of using exercise to achieve lower cholesterol is not having to deal with unwanted side effects that might be caused by prescribed medication. If the individual does not have time to enroll in a gym, there are other ways to pump those muscles and increase the heart rate. For starters, men and women can go brisk walking early in the morning or before going to work.
Some offices and hospitals encourage people to walk up one or two flights of stairs instead of using the elevator to go up or down a few floors. If the company where one works in has a big parking lot, the individual can try walking a few yards more instead of taking the space near the door. Remember to drink plenty of water during any exercise. This will prevent the body from dehydration that often leads to exhaustion. Try taking a bottle of water with you to your work out or along on your fitness walk; remember to drink from it frequently. Not only will this save much time, it will also keep the person focused on the task at hand and performing at the current pace.
Your health is the most important thing to you. By striving to exercise and remain fit, you will be able to lower the amount of bad cholesterol within your body and live a longer and healthier lifestyle than those choosing to do nothing.
